This course is intended to impart students with the basic level of understanding of the multiple segments of the Media & Entertainment industry, their history and growth. It would also orient them with various career options, available growth-path and the primary job responsibilities involved in the Media & Entertainment Industry.

Today’s students are the most aggressive consumers of the mass media, expanding their media consumption in various ways as they grow up. It will be a career option for some of them, while many others will use the media in their daily work as professionals.

Students pursuing this Graduate Programme in Media & Entertainment also get CCIETM (Centum Certificate for Industry Employability), an Industry recognized Workforce Certificate. This certificate is awarded to students on the successful completion of the Industry Immersion Programme and the Apprenticeship programme which lasts upto six months. CCIETM provides students the skills & competencies needed to succeed in their respective professional roles.

In the final year students would be introduced to production and nuances of media  They would spend last five months of their study programme at the Whistling Woods International Campus in Film City, Mumbai. This period would serve as an internship period and provide complete hands-on exposure to students in their chosen area of specialization.

Certification:

  • To be certified jointly by Centum Learning and Whistling Woods International. In addition, you will also earn a BBA (Communication & Broadcasting) from a UGC recognised University**

Specific learning outcomes

During the course, the student will:

Gain knowledge at a broad level of the history of the Media & Entertainment industry comprising several sections - Television (including News), Motion Pictures, Radio, Internet and Print & Publishing.

Be introduced to methods of appreciation & analysis of Film, Television, Print articles and gain proficiency in the same at a basic level.

Learn various stages of preparation of any piece of content in multiple segments of the Media & Entertainment industry from conceptualising an idea to developing the finished product.

Be introduced to the professionals in the Media & Entertainment industry – their titles, job profiles and their respective roles in the team. They may not have a detailed understanding of each of these roles although they would play a few or all the roles during their practical classes.

Learn the creative process of ideation & imagination to aesthetically design, compose and write content for multiple segments of the Media & Entertainment industry.

Be introduced to usage of technology in the various sub-sections of the Media & Entertainment industry and their modes of application both in theory and practice.

Acquire primary skill sets to develop an expression for Motion Picture Production or Television and Radio production.

B.B.A Communication & Broadcasting

The programmme aims to impart in-depth knowledge and a broad understanding of the basics of management education. The B.B.A. Communication & Broadcasting Programme focuses on various areas of management, communication and broadcasting education and prepares students for a career in management. It also prepares students to pursue an MBA qualification in due course.
